A private 250-acre estate in the New Hampshire woods, for your team

Corporate retreats

The estate, for your team alone

Lakefalls sits at the southern edge of New Hampshire's Monadnock region, twenty minutes from Keene and two hours from Boston. Beyond the 250 acres of the estate itself, 13,000 acres of permanent conservation land keep the woods going in every direction.

Between wedding weekends the estate opens to companies. Leadership teams and company offsites take the Lodge and the houses, and the rest of the property becomes the place to walk, think and eat together, with no other group on the grounds.

Lakefalls is a family estate and the family lives here, so your group is looked after by the people who restored it.

Where a group gathers

Lakefalls Lodge was built in 1927 and sits directly on Woods Mill Pond, with the original Great Room and a commercial kitchen with a six-burner range and a grill on the porch.

It was designed by Augustus Shepard, the architect of the Adirondack Great Camps, and it is still the heart of the estate.

What planners ask first

Anything not here, ask. Don writes back personally.

How many people?
The Great Room and the Lodge's common rooms hold gatherings of up to 45. The six houses sleep 34 comfortably, 42 at most.
Who cooks?
There is no in-house catering and no commission on vendors. Bring the caterer you like to the Lodge's commercial kitchen, or cook for yourselves. We can share caterers who know the property.
Can we work?
The estate is on high speed fiber internet. The Lodge has wifi and a wired connection, and a long table in the Great Room. Boulder House has a dedicated workspace.
What is there to do?
Canoes and kayaks, swimming in summer, trails across the estate and into the conservation land, billiards and a piano in the Lodge, fire pits outside.
Dogs?
Welcome in the houses.
Getting here
750 Aten Road, Stoddard NH. Twenty minutes from Keene and two hours from Boston, with EV charging on the estate.
What does it cost?
Every retreat is quoted for the group and the dates. Tell us what the gathering needs and Don will write back with a proposal.
Can we see it first?
Yes. We host private tours of the property, and it is the best way to plan a group's days. Ask for a tour.
In the colder months

When the pond freezes over

The houses run all year. Boulder House, the Lodge, Snowshoe Cabin and Mended Oar have radiant floor heat, the Great Room has its stone fireplace, and the woods go quiet under snow.

A winter retreat at Lakefalls looks like long mornings by the fire, a walk on the frozen edge of the pond, and the Lodge lit up across the ice at night.

Powered by the sun

The estate runs on its own power

Two solar arrays generate far more electricity than Lakefalls uses across a year, so the meetings, the meals and the six houses your group sleeps in all run on sun the property collected itself.

For a company that counts its footprint, the offsite is the easiest part of the year.
