Mended Oar Outpost

This stylish waterside cabin offers a beautiful and secluded setting deep in the woods. The view from the enclosed wraparound porch of Chandler Meadow and the adjoining 10,000 acres of conserved land is truly breathtaking.

Built in the 1950s, the cabin has been totally modernized while keeping a fun, mid-century-modern aesthetic. Cozy yet deluxe amenities include a wood-burning stove, screened-in porch, wool blankets, and fine linens. The fully equipped kitchen will suit serious cooks.

The gate house

This beautifully constructed post and beam three-bedroom year-round house with a large wraparound deck has views of a private lake in one direction and Otter Brook in another. It’s a spacious dwelling with three bedrooms and a fully equipped kitchen, perfect for gathering around the indoor fireplace or taking in the lakeside views.

The contemporary yet rustic structure, built in 1978, has a peaked roof constructed in the traditional post-and-beam fashion—without a single nail used. Knotty pinewood planks line the walls of the cozy bedrooms upstairs. Downstairs, the open space is organized around a wood-burning stove for winter warmth, with a deck overlooking Otter Brook that’s a perfect spot for taking summer sun or admiring fall foliage. Adjacent to the house are the historic Walled Garden and former power house, as well as thousands of acres of preserved woodlands ideal for hiking and snowshoeing.

SNOWSHOE CABIN

This cozy abode was designed in the 1920s to house the cars of guests staying at the grand Lodge next door; today, the original pine-wood garage doors are now fixed on their original tracks, offering a postcard-worthy view of woods and water. A recent renovation added to the mix warm spruce beams, radiant heated floors throughout, a fully equipped kitchen, and more all-season amenities. A stay here offers easy access to canoeing, swimming, hiking, cross-country skiing, and other outdoor pursuits. But be warned: Once you settle in, you might not want to go outside at all.
